INTERNATIONAL IP INTERCONNECTION -
OPERATIONAL ASPECTS

Based on the work of the i3 Forum

Description

A 2-day Training Program to provide participants with an understanding of the i3 Forum’s recommendations regarding the operation of international voice IP interconnections and the migration of those interconnections from TDM to IP.

Objectives

  • To define and explain the steps required in the migration of an international voice TDM-based interconnection to an IP-based interconnection, from pre-service interoperability testing to migration of traffic to the closing of the TDM link
  • To outline the appropriate test configurations between carriers
  • To define test case scenarios for testing interoperability for various voice-related services exchanged over an international IP interconnection
  • To review the Quality of Service (QoS) parameters that are recommended for use in ensuring adequate quality on the new IP route before live traffic migration
  • To discuss real-life case studies and the best practices that can be derived from them
