EDUCATION SECTOR ICT STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT & IMPLEMENTATION

Description

A 5-day Training Program to provide participants with an understanding of how to develop and implement an ICT operating strategy for the education system, for public as well as private sector operators involved in learning and education such as lifelong learning, professional development and learning about ICTs themselves. Participants will learn about the steps to take to prepare an ICT strategy and action plan: assessment phase, benchmarking education systems, learning about current management and technology trends in the education sector, use of computers for learning, issues related to connecting schools and developing the capacity of educators, and development and implementation of an education information management system within the context of national e-government plans and institutional arrangements beyond the educational sector.

Objectives

  • Present to participants how to assess the e-readiness of the learning and education sector and to compare it with international practice and benchmarks
  • Provide an understanding of the key trends and factors that influence the diffusion of ICTs in learning and education
  • Present to participants how to develop appropriate strategies and plans to take advantage of ICT trends and developments in learning and education
